Ring Associates

They wanted to modernise not only the site but also the logo. The old site they had was very blue and wouldn't work on mobiles or tablets very well. There website was used regularly as clients would access portfolio information and keep up to date with market trends. The design had to be clean, with easy navigation and had to be responsive to work on any device. The logo was trademarked so certain parts had to remain the same. With the logo I made it more modern and brought a 3D effect to it below is the before and after.   The site was simplified with a fixed navigation bar at the top so that anyone could easily get from page to page no matter where they were on the site.    ...

Pap Art

Pap Art

Pap Art was a very interesting project, the existing site was very old and static. What they wanted was to update the site but also turn it into a full e-commerce site where the photographs and pictures could be sold. The other concern was piracy of the copyrighted pictures which meant we need to protect the pictures while also making them easy to see. As the site was all about the pictures it seemed right to strip back the design to focus on the pictures. The client had very clear idea's on what kind of site he wanted and how it should look. Taking inspiration from his career as a paparazzi and gallery owner we put a few newspaper touches in as a subtle reminder to the customer.   ...

Call Paul

Call Paul

Paul contacted me looking to create a completely new site for his business as a way to generate new business and to explain his services and the area he covered. He was also looking for a site he could update and maintain. After meeting with Paul it also came clear that the logo he had he wasn't happy with, so we went about creating a simple logo which he would then use across all his marketing. New logo     For the site we used the color scheme Paul already had and implemented a simple, concise and easy to use site which gave all the information required. As the site was built on Wordpress Paul was able to deal with the updates and changes himself. ...

Pixie Keepsakes

Pixie Keepsakes

Pixie Keepsakes was slightly unusual as the site was created by another company but unfortunately Nina couldn't get it working the way she wanted and was struggling to understand Wordpress. She contacted me to see if I could help sort the site out and get the e-commerce working. The site layout was close to what Nina wanted but we tweaked a few things by adding in new backgrounds and adjusting fonts. I spent time with Nina going through the Wordpress CMS, so that she could start adjust the content and adding the blogs herself. We also looked at her SEO to make sure she was being picked up correctly by Google and to help her generate more traffic. ...

Predictions for WWDC Keynote 2013

Predictions for WWDC Keynote 2013 As you maybe aware Apple are holding their WWDC event this week. This is a yearly event where developers like me can learn about new features, how to use old features and ask the Apple engineers questions about the frameworks. Most people don't really care about all this it's mostly for developers. The main attraction is the Keynote address on Monday, which is where Apple release new goodies and new operating systems. Below is my predictions of what we will see at the WWDC. Firstly I'll start with what we won't be getting. New iPhones – Apple haven't release iOS 7 yet so no new iPhone until September time. New iPad Mini – as above plus it's only been just over 6 months since lats one, also the new retina version people are waiting for won't arrive until next year. New iPad – same as above. New Apple TV – Apple won't release a new TV at WWDC, but they might...

iPhone Reminders using locations

With the introduction of iOS 6 for the iPhone brought with it some clever new features including location based reminders here is how to use them.   1. Open the reminders app and add the reminder you want, then click the dark circle with an arrow in it.   2. In the next screen select remind me at a location. You can then choose when you leave or when you arrive.   3. Put in a new address or location, I've used our local Tesco's and put when I arrive. 4. You can click show on map to check the location is correct.   5. Once your happy with the location you can go back to main reminders screen. In my case, what will happen now is when I arrive at Tesco's my phone will remind me to pick up milk and only then. So if i set it at 6 in the morning but don't go to Tesco's until 9 at night it will still remind me. You...
